As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for daily contact with agents within the P&C marketplace, discussing risks, negotiating on pricing, coverage, acceptability and providing/requesting information. In this position, you will communicate with marketing representatives responding to inquiries regarding service, risk evaluation, questions on procedures, rates, premium evaluation, and service.

**This is a hybrid position, 2-3 days onsite at the Conshohocken, PA Home Office.

• Generate, underwrite and analyze accounts. 
• Risk selection by qualifying leads and identifying target market. 
• Communicate with brokers for new and renewal business. 
• Price and issue multiple quotes within selected markets.
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, including visitation.
• Thorough documentation of underwriting files. 
• Monitor claim activity and reporting. 
• Work closely with leaders in negotiation and handling of larger accounts.
• Prepare thorough and succinct referrals to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 2-4 years of commercial property & casualty underwriting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in risk management or related field, preferred. 
• Multi-line P&C background.
• Ability to develop and foster carrier and broker relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Aptitude to negotiate, influence and close deals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• P&C license required, or to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
• About 25% travel required in this role.
