The Underwriter is responsible for daily contact with agents within the P&C marketplace, discussing risk, negotiating on pricing, coverage, acceptability and providing or requesting information. This position will communicate with marketing representatives responding to inquiries regarding service, risk evaluation, questions on procedures, rates, premium evaluation, and service. 

**This is a hybrid position, 2-3 days onsite at the Conshohocken, PA office**

Responsibilities

  • Generate, underwrite, and analyze accounts.
  • Risk selection by qualifying leads and identifying target market.
  • Communicate with brokers for new and renewal business.
  • Pricie and issue multiple quotes with selected markets.
  • Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, including offsite visits/meetings/etc.
  • Thorough documentation of underwriting file.
  • Monitor claims activity and reporting.
  • Work closely with Segment VP in negotiation and handling of larger accounts.
  • Prepare thorough and succinct referral(s) to leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial property & casualty underwriting experience.
  • Prior experience in the social services/non-profit sector, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • Ability to develop and foster carrier and broker relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude to negotiate, influence and close deals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • P&C license required, or to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
