Staffing Lines, established in 1998 is a national insurance program designed for the Temporary and Permanent Staffing Industry.  Our current program offers Workers Compensation to Outplacement Firms, Executive Recruiting Firms, Temporary Staffing Firms and Permanent Placement Firms.  Our newly launched Package Program will complement the established Workers Compensation Program and focus on 5 major occupational areas: office/clerical, industrial and light manufacturing, technical/professional, medical and sales and marketing.  There is a great opportunity for us to leverage our relationship with the current Staffing Lines workforce to fulfill their package needs.

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Underwriter for our new Staffing Lines Package Program. The ideal candidate will have specialized expertise in temporary staffing risks to join our commercial underwriting team.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and managing multi-line insurance coverages—including General Liability, Professional Liability, Property, Crime, Umbrella and HNOA —tailored to the unique exposures of staffing agencies and contingent workforce providers. The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for daily contact with agents within the P&C marketplace, discussing risks, negotiating pricing, coverage, acceptability and providing or requesting information. This position will communicate with marketing representatives responding to inquiries regarding service, risk evaluation, questions on procedures, rates, premium evaluation, and service. 

 

**This position is located at our Conshohocken, PA Home Office, working on a hybrid schedule.**

Responsibilities

  • Generate, underwrite, and analyze package coverages including, GL, PL, Property, Crime, Umbrella and HNOA.
  • Risk selection by qualifying leads and identifying target market.
  • Communicate with brokers for new and renewal business.
  • Support renewal strategies, portfolio management, and profitability goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, including offsite visits/meetings/etc.
  • Thorough documentation of underwriting file.
  • Monitor claims activity and reporting.
  • Work closely with leadership in negotiation and handling larger accounts.
  • Prepare thorough and succinct referral(s) to Managers/Segment VP.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial underwriting experience. Staffing, PEOs or labor-intensive industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management or insurance majors a plus, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to develop and foster carrier and broker relationships.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, rates and forms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude to negotiate, influence and close deals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • P&C license required, or to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
